MEMBERSHIP 

Requirements
The total membership of the Society is approximately 600.  Nine regional branches have been established across South Africa.  Any person interested in the objectives of the Society may, at the discretion of the Council, be enrolled as a member.  

Membership Fees
Membership includes a subscription to the South African Journal of Economics (SAJE).  Members receive hard copies via post and access to the online version and archives of the Journal.

Domestic membership application
Annual membership fees are:

Normal members R420 per member per annum

 
Student members
 
R210 per member annum
(proof of bona fide students is required)
Foreign members USD 91 or EUR 82 or GBP 57

From early 2005, Blackwell publishing publishes the SAJE.
Both foreign and institutional society subscriptions are administered by Blackwell Publishing.

Change of address
To ensure the correct receipt of correspondence, it is important that the Society be notified of any change of address.  Contact the Editorial Secretary in this regard.

Membership categories
The constitution of the Society also makes provision for other types of members other than ordinary and student members, i.e.

Honorary members: Individuals admitted as such by the Council in the interests of the society. They are absolved from paying membership dues.
Retired members: Members of at least 20 years standing who have reached pensionable age. Such members are admitted at the discretion of the Council upon application, and are absolved from paying membership dues.
