2027 Biennial Conference

Save the Date- ESSA’S Biennial Conference 2027

We are delighted to announce that our 2027 Biennial Conference will be held from 28–30 September 2027, hosted by Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).

This marks a welcome return of the conference to the Eastern Cape, which last hosted the conference in 2015. The province is home to four universities, Nelson Mandela University, Rhodes University, University of Fort Hare, and Walter Sisulu University, each contributing to its growing research and human capital base.

The conference will be held at Nelson Mandela University’s Business School, a modern, fully equipped venue suitable for both in-person and hybrid participation. Located near the beachfront, it offers convenient access to a wide range of accommodation options. Gqeberha is easily accessible via a centrally located airport with connections to major South African cities.
